Re: Nausea and vomiting
Burroughs recommends 2 level teaspoons of salt per the quart of water. So that's where we suggest people begin. If you aren't getting results, then you have leeway to go up to 3 tsp. The amount of salt and the amount of water doesn't change based on your size. Getting the ratio of salt to water is very important, because it's meant to match the specific gravity of your blood.
Too little salt (i.e., the 1 tsp) may be the cause of your distended stomach--it isn't passing through the way it's supposed to.
What kind of salt are you using? Grey Celtic sea salt is the easiest to take. If you're using regular salt, that may be why you threw it up.
However, if you don't like or can't tolerate the SWF, then simply switch to another cup of laxative tea in the mornings.

Re: Nausea and vomiting
It has been so good to read about other people's experiences with nausea on this thread. It definitely gives me the encouragement to go on. I am on Day 1 and had a rough afternoon, had to leave work a little early after getting a severe headache and vomiting. I suspect this has to do with what I had to eat yesterday before I started the cleanse (among other, healthier things, I had coffee in the morning, diet coke & coffee with lunch, and a glass of wine with dinner...not to mention a Pop Tart for dessert). Not very good preparation!
I'm scared to drink the lemonade again as I really don't want to vomit. I was adding a good deal more than 1/10 teaspoon cayenne so I'm going to cut it way back, and I think I'm going to cut back the maple syrup a bit too (the thought of both these things makes me ill). I'll try this when I get hungry. Hoping the vomiting is behind me!

Re: Nausea and vomiting
As you have discovered - and had the good sense to realise - that was a pretty toxic collection of poisons you inflicted on your organism just prior to your cleanse!
I hope your body has finished rebelling and expelling in a vomiting kind of way now.
But even if it's not, consider that it's just doing a REALLY effective job of eliminating the poisons.
All the best.

Re: Nausea and vomiting
Thank you - the encouragement really helps! I cut back on the cayenne (am now probably doing the 1/10 tsp that was recommended) and cut back a little on the maple syrup. As long as I don't drink too rapidly...so far, so good. Day 2 is starting fine.

Re: Nausea and vomiting
I too was feeling very nauseous with an extremely bad headache. I am on day 2 and I haven't done a SWF yet, plan to do it tonight. (I have to work early and don't want to be strapped to a toilet in the am). I did break down and eat a few pieces of fresh fruit and organic rice crackers. Not much, but it has helped the nausea and my headache seems a bit duller. Did I completely mess up the detox? I am hoping to stick to the lemonade for the next 5 days but do these slips ups counter act the detox that badly?

Re: Nausea and vomiting
Today is my second day and so far no hunger, no cravings. However, after i drank the Salt Water this AM i felt lightheaded and a few hours later i vomited lots of bright yellow bile (?? not sure it is bile). I also received the book and I am dissapointed to not see ANY information about vomiting in Peter's book. I hope this will not be the case during the cleanse because I need to function during the day. Also, i spent a good amount of my morning in the bathroom ... Let's see .. I have a big challenge this weekend. I am celebrating my 8 year old birthday party so there will be tons of people and food. I hope I can have the will to survive the day!!! If i do, i know i can do the 10 days. .

Re: Nausea and vomiting
I found this forum because i had nausea and vomit on the morning of day 4 after my Lax tea, i was concerned and a number of people urged me to give up on the cleanse and "eat something". Thnakfully i stuck with it and i am now feeling better then ever. Day 5 has brought mental clarity and a great feeling of health. I am down 9lbs and half way done with the program.. I hope you feel better and are able to stick with it!

Re: Nausea and vomiting
i am also on day 1, but have not been experiencing the throwing up symptoms that many have had. The SWF is nasty and I put in too much cayenne pepper so the lemonade is like drinking firewater. I am on my 7th glass of lemonade.

Re: Nausea and vomiting
Wow, this is the real deal. I keep telling myself this is what a drug addict would be going through...more power to them. I desperately need this cleanse so I am assuming that my puking repeatedly on Day 1 (yesterday) goes to show how toxic I really am. This morning I threw up the salt water flush nearly 30 minutes after drinking it. In addition, I did see a little blood at the end of throwing up...and NO eliminations this morning like I experienced yesterday.
I ONLY had the SWF, tea morning and night, and the 6 servings of lemonade- NO WATER...WHAT A DUMMY! I didn't realize we should be drinking lots of water also since the book didn't specify. In addition, I made my lemonade with tap water...which I heard was bad to do. Common sense isn't that common! Amazingly, I didn't get sick until about 9:30pm.
This morning I am struggling a little bit. I feel ok but just can't bring myself to get started chugging lemonade. I just dont desire to drink it and plus I am not hungry...
So- questions:
1) If you vomit the SWF should you then do it again to get the elimination? I really do want to make that part of my process and not ditch it for the tea.
2) Is it ok to use tap water for the tea and SWF? I don't feel like purchasing purified water every day to meet all these liquid needs.
3) Should a little blood be a huge cause of concern?
4) How much water in addition to the 60oz. of lemonade should I get down?
5) What hours of the day are you guys spreading your servings into? Are we trying to be done with the lemonade by a certain hour?
I know a LOT of questions but I am so thrilled to have found this thread- I was starting to feel very alone and I am concerned about being so sick at work, people asking me to go to lunch etc. This is certainly going to be an adjustment. I have a strong suspicion that I am so toxic I will need to carry this cleanse on for quite some time. Hoping it gets much easier.

Re: Nausea and vomiting
So- I just read on a website that the Salt Water Flush in the morning may be easier with a straw. Also one website states to lay down on your right side for 30 minutes.
