Ooooh, I love raw...I'm about 80% at the moment, and I was 100% for a while, but it got rather expensive and inconvenient. But best of luck to all of you who are participating!

Wow, you guys! I just found this thread!

And I'm going to die if my Costco had a Vitamix sale and I missed it! Ack! Ack! Ack! I even looked the last time I was there, but I didn't ask.

Res, did you ever answer the question in another thread that asked about the differences in the Vitamix models? Like if it's really important to get the more expensive ones?

Today I was going to make a spinach/watermelon smoothie for breakfast, but I scarfed the watermelon first, LOL. Then I remembered I was going to do "wheatmeal" cereal (sprouted wheat berries, processed with apple and agave), so I had that too.

And then for lunch I did indeed have my sprouted wheat bagels, mac nut cream cheese, tomatoes, and broccoli sprouts. It was delicious!

And for dinner I was making a curry for DH, so I decided to try Cohen's curry sauce for the carrot-pecan burgers (which I had already made and in the fridge). Another winner!

I've also enjoyed some chocolate fudge and then bananas and nuts with TeePee's DIVINE chocolate sauce! (Can you tell I'm into chocolate, LOL?)

But I am already feeling so centered, so satisfied, so very happy with how I'm eating! I'm really happy we're doing this.

And in the other thread I posted my weight, but I'll post it here, because it's more applicable here. I started yesterday at 165. I'm going to weigh every morning but only report the weekly average, which I think is a better way to track weight and which "irons out" unpredictable ups and downs. Hoping to lose 5-8 pounds during the challenge (and hoping to continue that downward trend afterward, too).

Glad to be here, and hope to hear from all of you regularly!

Oh yeah, I forgot to say: I made a new batch of toona today, and now that I know it freezes well I went ahead and made the whole recipe for the first time. I then froze half.

When I do make it and eat a lot of it over time I get kind of tired of it, so I'm always amazed when I make it again how absolutely great it tastes! It is SO good!

You can sprout all sorts of things that you may not have even considered...when I can't get up to the health food store to buy things like alfalfa seeds or radish seeds in bulk, I purchase dry grains and seeds that will sprout. I've managed to sprout dry chick peas, lentils, soybeans, etc. that I purchased in bags at the regular grocery store.

i plan to join you guys when i'm done cleansing in a week or two.
here's a book i want to get - a two weekk meal planner -
http://www.ezhealthydiet.com/vegan-meal-plan.html

update - oh, i just realised the book is only availablee thru paypal and i don't do paypal. so oh well, i'll have to create my own menus.

right now I have 3 breakfast options - green smoothie, fruit salad or banana cereal (sliced bananas, chopped dates, raisins, chopped almonds and/or walnuts, a sprinkle of cinnamon)
but I'll have to go thru my raw food book and find more recipes and things to make for when I break my fast. I plan to do 10 - 14 days raw.

Question Re: The One Month RAW Challenge

I am So excited to be here!! I am starting the MC this Sat and am eating really healthy this week so that I don't completely freak my body out when I start this coming Sat.

QUESTION: I love peanuts, but they give me heartburn/indigestion! I want to eat raw for the 1st week after I finish the MC, but am not sure about eating all the nuts b/c of heartburn/indigestion.
DO you think it might go away after I do the MC b/c of all the toxins? Could they be creating it? Any ideas anyone?
THANKS!!!
