Re: Detox Stages
don't give up gale. you can do it. really! like peanutterb said, drink more water, more lemonade and if possible do something active or go get a massage. you are going through some major detoxing. activity (walking, yoga etc) or the massage will help with the detox.
don't give up. you'll be surprised how strong you really are. think of the end result.
hang in there girlfriend!

Re: Detox Stages
Hey Elisa... Thank you so very much for the support! I AM trying, but I am absolutely miserable. Perhaps being sedentary at work today is making it tougher too. I am about to float drinking extra water, but I'm gonna give it until tomorrow for this to subside a bit. My diet habits aren't horrible, but they aren't the raw goodies that everyone speaks of so I'm sure my body thinks I have lost my mind. I need to lose the weight, yes, but I have a new grandson that I want to run & play with one day & feel good doing it... that's my goal. Thanks again & I'm still going for it.

Re: Detox Stages
I am on my second cleanse, day 12. Today, I have received my first horrible headache. The kind of ache that causes nausia, light sensetivity, and throbbing pain. I really really didn't want to, but my husband convinced me to take some tylenol. I can't lay down right now, or else it gets worse, so decided to check out this bulletin board to see if anyone else has had the same problem. I am guessing that I need to drink more water with my lemonade drinks. I will continue my cleanse, I am going for 30, maybe 30+ days.
I am also wondering if anyone has felt that the cayanne pepper has irratated their intestines at all. Has anyone felt like they were still bloated, or possibly inflamed. Sometimes I think that I am.

Re: Detox Stages
Thanks jr5star! That's good information. Whew! I was a little worried there. Welcome and glad you're here. I tried this cleanse a while ago, too, and only made it, I think, to Day 3. I also didn't do the tea or SWF and just got overwhelmed with cravings. This time I'm on day 6, doing what the book and what these wonderful people on this board say, and it has been incredibly easy, I mean compared to what it was before. I was quite hungry last night so I think I will add a little extra syrup to my drink today. That always seems to level me out and before I know it I'm feeling groovy again. Take care!

Re: Detox Stages
Hi Melissa! Sorry to hear about the headache. I had a headache around day 2, but it didn't get that bad. I napped and drank some lemonade with extra maple syrup. And it still hurt a little, but I had to go out, so I took a big bottle of cool water with me and as I drank it, I started to feel better. I've found that sometimes adding just water drinking to this helps a lot! Peanutterb has suggested this also.
And yes, the SWF does bloat me quite a bit. I've tried, per PB suggestions, to alternate the SWF with the tea instead in the morning and I am not nearly so bloated. I thought I read that your weight loss wasn't what you expected. Maybe bloating has something to do with it. I don't know. I'm sure you will get a post from someone with some solid info. In any case, good luck! I'm rooting for you!

Re: Detox Stages
hey melissa,
Jennifer's right. water helps. and so does more lemonade.
the headache is a detox symptom.
try head on,
a cool washrag on your forehead
sniffing peppermint, eucalyptus or rosemary
there's a whole bunch of other non medicine remedies on here but i can't remember them all now.
taking painkillers is a bad idea while on the cleanse.
ok i just googled it and posted the info in the "General help for Newbies" Thread.
Hope you feel better soon.

Re: Detox Stages
Thanks guys, the headache is thankfully gone. I am glad their are alternatives to OTCM's. Now that I think about it, I havn't drank much water while on this cleanse. Hmmm, probably why my symptoms were so strong. Well I guess it is "Live and Learn" for me. I will look at the other posts on headaches.
Thanks again, it sure is nice to know others care while you experience a cleanse.

Re: Detox Stages
Hello!
I have been on the MC for 7 days now, and noticed three days ago that I had upper abdominal pain. The pain seems to be working its way down to my lower abdomin. I have also noticed that I have developed water retention yesterday and today, like 6 pounds. I also noticed that the salt water flush does not kick in for 2-3 hours. I have been breaking out a little bit in my cheek area on my face. And have felt kind of weak and tired. When I wake up in the morning my eyes are also very puffy. Is this all normal? How will I be able to get rid of the mucoid plaque? I would definatly like to do that.
