Re: For Women
I am on day five
It is also day 21 in my woman cycle. I usually get breast tenderness this late in the cycle, because I would expect a period in 7-8 days.
First, off I like to complete my ten day cleanse before I get period even in the even I might be pregnant - is that OK? As soon as I find out I will quit
Second, I have noticed the most bizzarresymptom. I have NO BREAST TENDERNESS this month!!! Is it due to the cleanse, or that I have not consumed anything for the tenderness to be happen, or is my hormones finally IN BALANCE??

Re: For Women
I am just starting the cleanse, and I take evening primrose oil and vitamin E to control hot flashes and other symptoms. I don't want to regress in my symptoms, so even though I don't mind skipping my other vitamins, these I don't want to skip those. . . Also, I have been taking passion flower and valerian, along with benydryl to help me sleep at night, and I'm worried about skipping these. In addition, I want to do this, I tried most of the day yesterday, but had dinner with my family, and I hated the lemonade w/the maple syrup & cayenne taste. I don't think I can get the sugar cane extract--possibly agave extract. I have a fasting tea that I had previously been drinking that I love that consists of 1 cup unsweetened cranberry juice, 56 oz of water, 3/4 cup orange juice, 1/4 c lemon juice, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, 1/4 tsp ginger--simmered for 10 minutes. This can be drunken hot or cold, and I sweeten it w/stevia--I love this--the cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger are supposed to rev up your metabolism, and stave off hunger pains, etc. So what I was thinking about doing is use this tea, but still have the fresh sweezed lemonade, sweetened w/stevia, have the maple and cyenne separately (shot). What do you think?

Re: For Women
I am on day 5 of my second cleanse. My first cleanse began Jan. 1 and lasted for ten days. I also started my cycle on the same day of that cleanse. On this cleanse my period began on day two. What I have noticed this time is that I haven't had as much cramping and the bleeding has been less.

Re: For Women
For the woman who asked about oral contraceptives - I, too, am on the pill and have taken them throughout my Cleanse. It's the only medication I take and/or have taken during that time.
I'm on Day 33 right now, and have experienced two periods - the first on Day 5, and then starting yesterday (which came a day early).
I took my pill each day about an hour after my SWF with my first lemonade. Never noticed it "flushing", and having two periods just about guarantees (though nothing is 100%) that my pills worked - I'm on schedule and everything.
As far as periods, though, both of them have been very, very heavy and (if I may be so bold) I've never seen such BRIGHT red blood. Both periods have been this way, but as everyone else here says, it's probably just detox (plus all the extra water in me adding to my blood plasma I guess).
In 33 days I've lost 23 pounds (plateau-ing now because of my period) and - yes - I plan on going the whole 40 days. Next Friday, Feb 11 is my last day

Re: For Women
My sister is interested in doing the MC but she has a question about birth control. She is currently getting an IM shot of Depo-Provera (which is a progesterone hormone injection), once every 3 months for birth control. She wants to know if she will remain fully protected from getting pregnant, if she does a MC.
I'm not up on the latest birth control methods because I had a hysterectomy about 8 years ago, so I have no idea what to tell her. Does anybody know? She definately doesn't want to take any chances at this stage in her life. Her children are grown.

Re: For Women
I have another "woman question." I have fibrocystic breasts, and I am wondering if it's possible that this cleanse will eliminate some of that problem.
I'm only on day 4 of my first cleanse, but I've noticed two things. I started my period on the same day I started the cleanse, and my breasts are not sore like they often are when I am menstruating. Also, they don't feel as hard and lumpy... Is it possible that the cleanse is softening them up? I would love to have soft, floppy breasts instead of the twin rocks of Gibraltar. LOL.

Re: For Women
I would not be surprised if it did soften and heal your breasts for you... I notice that all the female stuff my body does gets easier and smoother, softer and more normal with each cleanse.. I am on my third.
Best,

Re: For Women
I also had some concerns about doing the cleanse while on my oral concraceptive pills. I have also been considering going off the pills and finding an alternative form of birth control for awhile now, due to the detrimental side effects associated with long term (or even possibly short-term) hormone use.
So I took my last pill on saturday night and started the cleanse monday morning. I also did some research on alternative forms of birth control and after some thought decided to order the Lady Comp Fertility monitor. Very easy to use: the machine takes your temperature orally every morning and give you a red light if you're fertile, green light if you're not! And it has a 99.2% success rate...same as the pill! So I'll just have to use some other type of contraceptive for the 5 or 6 days a month the monitor gives me a red light. Just wanted to share with everyone as I have been thinking of taking this step for awhile now, but didn't know there was anything like this out there available! You can check it out at: http://www.naturalbirthcontrol.com/index.php
Back to the subject, I would imagine you will still get good results from the diet while taking the pill. Yet one of the reasons for the cleanse is to get rid of all the artificial chemicals, etc. that have built up in your body, so to me it just didn't make sense to keep adding artificial hormones to my body while doing the cleanse at the same time. So I will keep you all updated and let you know how it goes being recently off the pill and starting the cleanse (and how the fertility monitor works out!).
Good luck to all you women out there struggling with this same issue, as I know it is a very difficult one...it sure was for me!!

Re: For Women
I'm still taking my contraceptive pill -- Yasmin -- but I never take the white reminder pills. Yasmin is an ultra-low dose pill that I take to control PMS/PMDD symptoms, and there was no way I was risking a hellish period while trying to not eat food. The last time I tried to skip a month nearly killed me. Like others, I take mine after the SWF in the morning, and I've not noticed any problems.
