Hello Everyone,
I am currently on day 3 of my first MC, this morning was my first SWF. After only 15 minutes I had my first elimination and then for the next hour had 4 more. They were mostly watery. I have been a vegetarian for over 18 years, but lately have felt "sluggish" and wanted to try this cleanse for a very long time, but I felt that my work schedule would confilict with the cleanse. Are most of the eliminations during the cleanse supoosed to be "watery" or very liquid-filled?

My head was pounding the first two days at work, but I feel better today mainly because I am at home and not working, but I have a couple of questions I cannot find the answers to within the posts or in the book.

I have been drinking around 80oz. of the lemonade I make with spring water, but I also drink around 64oz. of water that I get from my home, I use a PUR water filter and I'm not sure if I should be drinking ALL bottled spring water throughout the day. I also make my senna tea and the SWF with the filtered tap water.

Another question I have is about squeezing the lemons. For the first two days I juiced the lemons in a zyliss pitcher (which leaves most of the PULP and seeds on top so you can discard it.) I used the juice that was on the bottom part of the pitcher which contained very little pulp. Today, I felt as if I should have more pulp, so I threw out the seeds at the top and included the pulp in my drinks. It doesn't explain in Stanley Burrough's book how you are supposed to get the juice for the lemonade, so I need to know, do I include this pulp or just take the juice? I'm sorry these questions are silly, I just want to make sure I am getting all the benefits from this cleanse.

I appreciate any replies, I'm sorry if the questions are a little random, my head is still very foggy! I just need a little support and information.
Thank you in advance!

Laniegurl,
I am on day ten of my first MC, so I don't qualify as an expert but I have been reading these boards throughout.
When doing the swf, your bowel movements are supposed to be watery for the most part, some mcer's affectionately describe it as "butt pee". I find that after the swf "wears off" my eliminations are then done for the day.
It sounds like your intake is sufficient. As for the type of water, I am not familiar with *how the pur filters purify the water. I have been using spring water solely, but my guess would be that the pur filter is fine.
As for the lemon juice, pulp is ok too. I use a cuisinart electric juicer which doesn't make a lot of pulp, but prior to getting the juicer i was hand squeezing and getting more pulp (until my hands became cracked from the lemon juice contacting them).
Anyway, I hope this helps.

Hi laniegurl - Welcome to the MC and the BB.

I have done 5 MC, my last one for 15 days in Jan. I have a PUR filter and this is what I have used for my cleanses. I only drink 6 glasses of the drink - I use limes, because I prefer the taste and they have a thin skin , so I generally can get 2 T. of juice from each half. I use a 'hand' citrus juicer without the strainer attachment, so I get quite a bit of pulp in my drinks and this has worked fine for me. Hope this helps and best wishes on your MC :)

Thanks Emilindrac and Ladydi for the replies, they really helped! I did have one more silly question I'm sure I know the answer to, but here it goes: Am I allowed to have gum at all? I think at work even if I could put it in my mouth and just hold it there I wouldn't feel so self-consience about my fuzzy tongue! Thanks!

Day 5: Wow, I have not had ONE "solid" elimination since I started, it's all "butt pee" lol, but I still feel as if I am making the most of it. I did the SWF Saturday am and within 15 minutes I had my first of 6 eliminations then I took it easy for the day.

Yesterday I felt great! Except on the way to my Dad's which is 1 1/2 hours away I couldn't hold it anymore, we had to stop on the side of the road because we were in a very rual area in CT, I ended up having to go in the woods, so that's the funniest story so far about this cleanse!

I helped my father move into a senior housing apartment and I moved as much stuff as everyone else if not more, I never once felt weak and it was my best day yet. I drank 8 glasses of lemonade again. I tend to be hypoglycemic so I think that's why I need the 8 glasses a day. Today my arms feel a little sore, but nothing unusual after moving all day.

I did have a dream about food a few nights ago, cheese of all things which I never eat anymore........I ordered a big hunk of smoked gouda at a deli~very bizarre! I have been ovo-lacto vegetarian for over 18 years, but I do not eat eggs or dairy unless they are in something, so I am borderline vegan if there is such an animal!

Thanks again and thank God for this message board, it's great to know you're not alone especially if nobody around you is doing or has ever done the cleasne!

Laniegurl,
Congratulations on making it this far.
I would not have any gum because that will stimulate your digestive tract and actually make you hungrier.
If you have a particularly active day, drink more lemonade. One day after a particularly hard workout I had 10 glasses, and you can have up to 12.

Thanks again Emilindrac, That's what I thought about the gum, just wanted to make sure!
I have been really hungry today so I did have 10 glasses, plus peppermint tea, H2O and my lax tea this am. It may be from all the exercise yesterday. I still feel good, when I went to buy more syrup today the lady at the health food store (who knows I am doing this since I buy my "bulk" of grade B syrup and my organic lemons there) said my skin was glowing today! Thanks again for all your help. Tomorrow day 6!

Hi everyone,

I am on day 3 of my very first MC and doing very well thus far! I am feelling very good....a lot better than I thought I would be at this point. ;) I have a question in regards to the lack of protein on the MC and the possibility of muscle wasting. If you are doing the MC for an extended period of time, will muscle wasting occur? I have a friend who is a nurse and she mentioned muscle wasting to me and I am wondering if anyone out there knows anything about this happening.

Be well all.....and hang in there!! :)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Im on day 3 of my fast and I have my moments! I determinded however to made it to day 10 and have been looking all over for Peter's book so that I know what to expect but I havent been successful at finding it and have a few questions in the meantime...please help me!

I typically follow each 8 oz glass lemonade with a full 16 oz glass of ice water. Is that good since I typically drink the lemonade warm? Is the whole idea to warm the cayenne pepper to activate it in your body? And also seeing as though I drink a glass of water immediately afterwards, is it necessary to dilute the mixture with 8 oz of water or can I use less water (i.e 4 oz of water, 1/2 a lemon, 1 tbsp of syrup and a dash of cayenne) ??

Also, the cayenne burns my throat really bad - I recently read in First magazine that you could replace the cayenne pepper powder with a supplement that has high WU's? Any thoughts on that....?

Can I immediately follow the fast with the fruit flush by Jay Robb which is broken down as follows?

Day 1 - 6 protein shakes - one every 2 hours from 8am -6pm and a raw salad and/or fish or salmon after 6

Day2 - 6 servings of fruits - one every 2 hours 8a-6p and only a raw salad or raw vegetables after 6p

Day 3 - repeat day 2

Post Fast...Eat healthy as normal and repeat the fast weekly up to 12 weeks.

Hi,
I've read that you should use distilled or spring water because it is not fluoridated. I don't think that a PUR or Brita takes out the fluoridation from tap water.
