Hi,

I am starting the MC tomorrow, and I wanted to know if I could use the concentrated (pure) lemon that comes in a bottle as opposed to squeezing fresh lemons.

Would really apprecite a response thanks!!

Hi AC:

welcome aboard! Probably not a good idea to use concentrated lemon-- fresh lemons (preferably organic if possible) are the BEST-- because they have all sorts of enzymes and nutrients that don't survive the processing. I notice that when the lemonade I make is a DAY OLD-- it just doesn't "fuel" me, or taste as good as the REAL DEAL! I know it is a hassle, but it is a good idea to figure out how to get all your supplies lined up ahead of time so that you'll have them on hand and available. I'm sure everybody figures out different things: in my case I have a little "lunch" canvas tote-- that has a hand lemon squeezer, small bottle (which I refill) with organic grade B maple syrup, knife, fork (for extra juicing potential), measuring spoons, (organic) cayenne powder, and a bowl to squeeze the lemon juice into. I also ordered Petere's bottles online (from this website), got a carrying case for them (at K mart) *and a re-usable water-bottle (with a sip top) so that I can bring my lemonade anywhere! Lots of luck getting it together-- and come join us on the "2006 What day are you on and how are you doing? " board and tell us how you're doing!

I have used the concentrated stuff in a pinch, much prefer the taste of the fresh squeezed.

I did have detox and success with the concentrated, but again the fresh squeezed tasted better and went down much easier.

I have a whole bottom shelf in the fridge with the concentrated, I still pay the out of season price for the fresh.

I wish you success on your journey... It will get better...
;D

I am on day one. Its strange not to eat. So, when I was getting supplies the health food store gave me a powder that included everything. Is that just as effective as the real stuff? Somebody please help.

Could you link to the product so we can see it? I have a feeling it isn't as good as fresh squeezed juice. It would be really handy though.

The powdered form of the Master Cleanse is called "Vibrant Cleanse" made by Vibrant Health. Here is the link: http://www.vibranthealth.org/vcl.html

I work in the supplement department of a health food store, and we get to have private seminars done by the representatives of different supplement companies. A fellow from Vibrant Health did one for us, and he talked about this Vibrant Cleanse. He told us that after trying a lot of different methods, they finally figured out how to powder the fresh lemon juice without losing the enzymes. Note that one canister of the Vibrant Cleanse (for approximately $39.95) is only 24 servings. That will last just 3 days, less if you are drinking more.
My brother actually did the 10 day cleanse with the Vibrant Cleanse. He was driving across country (no idea why he couldn't wait until he got to his destination), so this way was much easier than squeezing the lemons and measuring all the ingredients. I did have a taste of the reconstituted powder, and it did taste just like my own home-made version. I guess that you could also add your own cayenne to it if it isn't spicy enough for you.
All that being said, I still think it is more cost effective to do it yourself. The Vibrant Cleanse can be helpful if you are traveling or you just like the convenience of a powder, it is just a little more spendy!
