I've been a silent observer of the master cleanse board for a while now. I've found it extremely helpful in my path towards better health BUT I have a few concerns and I'd be more than appreciative if you could help me out with some advice. Ok, here goes...
I did my first cleanse in November, which was an official transition from vegetarianism (after approx. 8 years) to veganism. It lasted the minimum of ten days, I had BM's everyday, and I felt great afterwards.
Fast forward to March of this year. I decided to complete another cleanse because I was beginning to feel a little sluggish and like my healthy eating habits were taking a slide. This time around, I did not have any bowel movements except for on the two days that I had time to do the salt water flush. I was a little concerned, but I felt fine. I also did this cleanse for the minimum of ten days. My tongue went back to normal but a week after completion of the cleanse, I noticed a thick white coating that had developed down the centre of my tongue and very pronounced spots throughout the coating. I also wasn't experiencing the same "efficiency", when it came to bowel movements, prior to the cleanse.
Ever since, my tongue has slowly started to clear, but my stomach constantly feels bloated, makes continuous gurgling sounds, and there's small sharp pains from time to time. I'm still having BM's, but they seem like they take 4 times longer than usual and I'm feeling even more sluggish than before. I've also had constant headaches and some back pain. Also, my diet has been incredible since I've come off the cleanse, so it can't be due to lack of fibre or poor diet.
My inclination is that maybe, somehow I'm still detoxifying. Is this possible even though I'm eating? I did the Tongue Diagnosis that Peter posted, and it told me that I have potential problems in the "Middle Jiao" and with blood circulation. The definition from the online test is extremely accurate as to what I'm experiencing:
"The Middle Jiao is to say that the phlegm and dampness are limited in location to the digestive organs from which phlegm and dampness tend to arise. Key symptoms associated with this pathology include nausea, motion sickness, lack of appetite, intestinal gurgling, fatigue."
My question for you now is what should I do? I don't have time for another cleanse for quite some time. I do not foresee any advantage in going to see an allopathic doctor (I'm quite the disgruntled patient). Are there any herbs or natural remedies that you could suggest?
Thank you for reading my banter! haha
