Hey All! I'm going to start the cleanse again on March 1st and would like to go as long as possible, but at least 21 days, would like to go over 30. I know I have a lot of detoxing to do.
Anyway, if anyone else is wanting to start March 1st and would like to come in and support one another, that would be cool, thanks! :D

Hi fancy1!!! Yeah it's good to plan around events, otherwise we sabotage ourselves before we've started ha good job on doing so well.
I"m getting really excited about starting again this time!!! I've been reading more about it (Peter's book and lots of web sites, etc.) and I just went and ordered a huge 3 gallon thing of the organic B syrup with a spout, and some more sea salt, and some more ceyenne pepper and even a cool lemon squeezer :D I feel excited about it, as I'm going for a longer time this time. I really want to go a long time, at least 30 days. I know I'll need to come in here EVERY day (probably more than once a day ha) to write my thoughts, detox symproms and feelings, as that will help keep me going.
If anyone else is thinking of starting on March 1st too, or even if you're at a different point in your cleanse, I hope some of you come in and say 'hi" :D
I didn't realize Robin Givens had done this and lost 70 pounds, etc. I was reading up on some of that today too. I hope there's a lot more on the cleanse on the internet, cause I love reading it all :D

QueenSharon!!
I will be starting again in March, but not on the first. It sounds like you will be well into your March Cleanse by the time I get started again as I intend to begin on the 13th. My first MC was for 29 days and I finished on the 7th of Feb!!
I'll check back in with you here to see how you are doing. I didn't really intend to cleanse again so soon, but have discovered since ending on Feb 7th I probably have another round of detoxing to do right away. I know there is no hurry, but I feel my body is well adjusted and ready for another 10 days. Plus I miss some of the wonderful ways in which I felt better during the Cleanse!!
I have the dreaded Fibromyalgia and a profound sleep disorder connected to it. I slept better during my Master Cleanse than I have at any time in over 6 years!! Really miss that!! And I was experiencing some incredible reductions in my pain levels around a cervical spine injury I deal with every day. Amazing, really. MUCH less arthritic pain!! LOVED THAT TOO!!
Anyway, I know we can not live on this Lemonade only regime for ever just to escape our aches and pains and get a good nights sleep!! But I am certainly going to enjoy those particular perks as I continue my journey toward a well balanced, natural state of physical health!
So good luck to you on your 30 day or more committment!! I think it will really boost you to a new level in your physical experience here in this life!! I am fascinated with you and so very glad your here with us!!
Keep us posted!! :)
I'll be back . . . . . . ~ Dreams ~

Hey sweet ((((dreams!))) "sweet dreams".. that was cute haha :D
Thanks so much for the support, and you know what's so weird.. is that tonight I was like "I just DON'T want to wait two more days until the 1st to start my next cleanse!" haha so I"m starting tomorrow! I have my laxative tea right here, and will begin that tonight..
I'M SO EXCITED! I want to go til the end of March and that would be 33 days, and possibly beyond, but taking it one step/toxin at a time haha
I'm so glad you'll be going back on soon and I know what you mean about feeling you have more detoxing to do.. AND I TOTALLY know what you mean about the lessening of arthritic pain (me too!) and the sleeping better than you have in years (totally me too!), so I'm actually really anxious to get back on it again.
I was reading on one cleanse web site something about some woman who was on it for like 120 days straight (holy crap ha) and she was cured of some big thing.. forgot what it was.. but I can't even imagine being on it that long ha I'd lose all the weight I need to lose, that's for sure! haha
I gained back almost all the weight I lost on my 8 day cleanse before, but it's cause I jumped into all the wrong foods again and stuffed myself again ::sigh:: but as they say, rarely do you "get it" on the first cleanse, so I'm licking my wounds (and soon my lemons haha) and ready to head into it again, longer this time, and more determined to do better when I begin to eat again...
In fact, I'm glad I started this thread, cause then I won't feel badly going in and polluting someone else's thread all the many times a day I"m gonna feel like sharing hahaha Cause I was starting to get really cranky on the 8th day but I didn't know quite where to put my crankiness, so I let it get the best of me.. this time when that happens, I'll SHARE it with you all (heh heh heh)
Okay, ::drinking my laxative tea:: I'm starting, YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :D Love and hugs Fancy and Dreams :D

Good Morning queensharon and your too Dreams...
I came to a decision this weekend...
this is day seven of MC3 and I think that I feel so darn good when I am cleansing that I am going to incorporte it into my routines.
Thinking I may just do it for 10 days every two months. That way it is on a regular basis and I get the benifit.
This time I really wanted to go 15days but my partner told me that my tummy was growling so bad last night that one could not help but feel sorry for me...
I myself do not notice it nor feel hungry... so to keep the peace, I have come to this solution...
My last day will be Thursday... this time... who knows I may get away with going longer next time... :)
Hope everyone is getting hyped for the big start on Wednesday...
have a wonderful Monday and best of luck in your journies...

Hey Fancy! Yeah that's a super idea to do it on a regular basis like that. A friend of mine wants to do that too :D Congrats on being almost done with this cleanse :D
OH man I was all mentally set to start on Weds. and then I quickly decided to start today and I'm STRUGGLING!!! ha I did the tea last night, the SWF this morning and have had 6 of the glasses of juice already and I'm already eyeing the steamed potatoes and mushrooms and turkey breast I made for the famly tonight ::sigh:: ha
The mind is a powerful thing, maybe it's saying "you were supposed to start Weds. you goof" haha I went hog wild and ate all junk this past week between the wedding and now, so it might not be a bad idea to eat healthy for a couple of days before I start ONLY doing the cleanse (see how I'm trying to rationalize this? haha)
I think I'll do all the drinks, the tea, the SWf and everything and still have a very small healthy dinner tonight, then ease into it a bit that way. I'm still excited about it and have enjoyed drinking the drink again today :D
Anyone else starting on Wednesday? March 1st? Anyone? :D

Hello, QueenSharon, I started on Feb. 25th so March 1st will be my 5th day. This is my first MC. My friends think I have lost my mind! So far things are going pretty good. I have had a few weak spells (like weak dizzy feelings--not weak like temped to stop). I have really not been hungry one bit. The SWF didn't work for me--so I am just doing the tea morning and night I am alittle concerned about March 1st because that will be the first day of the cleanse that I have to work. I don't have the kind of job where I can run to the bathroom just any 'ole time. Anyway, QueenSHaron, I hope to see many posts from you on the cleanse so I can know how you are doing.

Hi Sharon,
I started the cleanse today, but that should be close enough to your start date that we can keep track of each other! So far I've had about 70 ounces of lemonade and am getting ready to take my laxative tea for the night---
I managed the SWF (I take 2 tsps in 16 oz luke warm water and then chase it with 16 oz clear water---it goes down better and is DEFINITELY effective) and will do it again tomorrow.
I'm actually getting surgery on Wednesday but I plan to continue with the cleanse. I don't know, we'll see how that goes, but my intention is to stay steady and keep on plugging on.
Don't forget to update!
Peace,
Crys

I am also starting 1st of March, and feeling extremely inspired especially after reading all of those inspiring posts over on the "what day are you on" thread...
My plan is to take one day at a time but ultimately would really love to go for the whole month of March.
Goodluck to everyone and I would love to stay intouch.

Hi Lizzy! good job on doing well! I hope you do well at work, I'm sure you will :D I hate all those extra foods everywhere out there in the real world ha (but actually there are tons of extra foods here at home too, as I have a honey and 3 kids, oy vey). Keep up the good work!
Crys, hey good job! I actually started yesterday, but ate a small amount of veggies last night, then did a SWF again after it (ha) to try to wash some of it out, and I think it worked. So I'm considering today to be my Day 2. As I"m going for a longer time this time, I'm sure it will all work out well. I like your idea with the SWF, and I'm sure that will be really helpful for some who have trouble with it. I don't mind it at all and love the way it works, don't you? :D Good luck on your surgery, I hope it all goes well, keep us posted on that. Keep on keepin on, we can do it!!! :D
Hey Fancy! you too, huh? I did so well last time on my first day, I don't know what's gotten into me this time ha good job on being almost done! I"m going to go for a longer one this time, so even if I have small slip-ups during any day, I'm gonna keep doing all the "stuff" (ha) the laxative tea, the SWF, the lemonade, etc. Cause I don't want to let a small slipup take me completely back to Junk Food Land haha keep up the great work :D
Hey Lubina!!! Welcome! I also want to go the whole month and would LOVE some support for that. We're also looking into buying a house, and I"m packing up some of the rooms already,e tc, so I'm hoping that will keep me busy when I might ordinarily be grabbing food ha I technically started yesterday on the 27th and only ate a very small meal last night, then washed it out with SWF again last night ha so hopefully it did'n't mess me up much. So far, so good today, we can do it!
Well, I lost 6 POUNDS OVER NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!! I started off at 254, but I knew a lot of it was water retention as I ate a bunch of junk last week, I mean A BUNCH of junk last week haha starting at the wedding last weekend, oy vey.... so that was a HUGE RELIEF to see 248 on the scale this morning, woo hoo!!! Now to get back down into the 230's quickly, that will sure keep me motivated (I got down to 237 on the last cleanse which I ended over a week ago), so hopefully I'll get to that quickly and can keep taking it lower! :D
My face is still puffy from all the extra water retention, but my hands aren't any more, so I know it's working, yipeee :D so, doing okay on Day 2, sounds like everyone else is doing well too!!! :D

Hey all!
Queensharon--thanks for starting this thread--the other one does take a long time to download, and I only have dial-up!
I am Day 6, today, so I figure I am close enough to March 1st to write on this thread...maybe I can be a support or a trailblazer for you all!
Yeah...cooking dinner for the kids is rough...made them teryaki chicken, rice and peas. Damn it smelled so good!!! Instead, I downed a glass of water (with a little cayenne--I hear it speeds the cleanse).
I am down 10 pounds so far...this is my first MC...and I now definitely want to do it at least yearly. I like the idea of starting in January, though. Had to get my nerve up and try several 1-2 day fasts first to see if I had it in me. I usually drink gallons of 100% grapefruit juice each week, and that I am missing.
Question? Can you come off the cleanse with grapefruit juice instead of OJ?
GOOD LUCK ALL!
Love ya!
Chris

Wow Sharon,
Six pounds? That is awesome. I got on the scale and lost two, which I am happy about---but WHOA. I was hungry like CRAZY yesterday, it felt like my body was devouring itself. ;)
Today was *much* easier. No hunger, much more energy, clarity---even a more positive disposition. So, day 2 better than day 1---maybe that means day 3 will be better than day 2? I will be thrilled!
It's not so hard once the hunger is gone. Then there's just boredom and all those fantastic cooking shows on The Food Network, which are from the devil.
Peace,
Crys

Starting tonight w/ the tea so pretty excited. First time doing any type of cleanse but I decided I want to change some things and live healthier. No more smoking and way less drinking.
Hope you can provide me some support and guidance going forward as I go this alone and for the first time.
THanks.

Lemonator,
I have seen several people use grapefruit instead of oj and the consensus seems to be that it is fine. Actually, if you go to the "breaking the fast" thread Peter himself uses gf juice, so it must be fine. I am on day 5 and am looking forward to OJ

February 28th, 2006, 11:46 PM
emilindrac: *Thanks, about the gf juice. *I swear by that stuff!
Well, big day tomorrow...going back to the day shift, and a 12 hour one, at that. *Working in a hospital sucks while doing this--too much food around!!! *This will be my first time getting up early to do the SWF before heading to work, too. *Should be fun...NOT! *I don't mind drinking and eliminating it...I just hate getting up real early. *Plus...gotta make up the day's supply! *
AND...it will be day seven...hump day, from what Peter says. *
Goodnight all and wish me luck tomorrow! *I'll try to check in at some point during the day.

Hi Chris!!! Yeah it's quicker in this thread for sure, isn't it? ha OH man having to make teriyaki chicken and everything.. oy vey.. it's just not fair! ha Yeah I think others have done the grapefruit juice when coming off the cleanse too, so I'm sure that's fine. 10 pounds off is great! Keep up the great work!!!
Hi Crys! Yeah I was happily surprised at the 6 pound loss, but of course most of it is water retention from all the junk I ate last week, but that's okay, I'll take it ha I only lost 1/2 a pound today, which was disappointing, but hey I can't be too greedy (tee hee) I know what you mean about the food on TV everywhere and stuff.. I swear every other commercial is for food!!! ha
Hi rpparkster! Good luck on the cleanse! I've done an 8 day one recently, but came off of it wrong and then ate junk food like crazy, so I didn't do it right ha but I enjoyed it during the time I did it.. I'm back on this time for longer, so hopefully I'll get past those cravings eventually ha So you're quitting smoking too? That's awesome!! I quit 13 years ago and I used to smoke over a pack a day, so it's REALLY worth it!!! You'll be so happy you quit (and richer too! ha) Come in and post often, whether you're doing well or badly, that's what we're here for :D
Hi emilindrac! Good job on being so far into the cleanse :D Tell us more about how it's going, have you lost any weight, been hungry, etc.? :D
Chris, hope you did well with the SWF and going to work. oh wow a 12 hour shift.. are you taking your stuff to make it there, or taking it pre-made with you? I'm fortunate to be at home for long stretches of time (I work part-time contracted teaching computers at our local college and high school), so I can make mine fresh, but with all the extra food around here and no one to stop me (heh heh) it's tempting at times ::sigh::
Oh, and today is my first official day of not eating anything. I ate a small meal the first night, then last night I was craving munchies again, so I did what someone else on here suggested, which was to chew it and then spit it out! ha so I did that. Not sure if that really works overall, and I doubt Peter would recommend it (ha) but I figure it was better than going off the cleanse totally or getting back into junk food, so I'm just gonna do the best I can every day and not see it as a short-term thing at all, but as a long-term thing.. cause I want to lose a lot of weight, and I also need to detox a lot, so it may take me a while anyway.. I'm gonna keep on keepin on :D
Love and success to you all, I did my SWF and am off to make my first "meal" of lemonade :D Have a great day!!!

Greets! I'm a newbie starting my first cleanse today. I've been mentally gearing up to start for a couple of weeks, and for some reason, when I woke up this morning, I thought Today's The Day. Today I'm feeling like this is going to be a transformative experience and I'm really excited about it. Hope that lasts through the inevitable challenges over the next few days.
I'm committed to the first 10 days, but would like to go longer if I can. It seems unlikely that I'll be able to eradicate all of the toxins I've built up over a lifetime in just 10 days. We'll see though.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi and good luck!

Hello everyone out there in lemonadeland!
WOW! Very rough start to the day...SWF took much longer than usual to run its course, had to make a lot of lemonade for 12 hours at work, ended up being late for work...not a good start. Then the thoughts start again...why am I doing this, etc. And I am not at all used to working without caffeine...but still no caffeine withdrawal thanks to cutting done prior to the cleanse.
Still going, though...have enough juice to get through...am looking forward to a fresh one when I get home! Everyone definitely thinks I am nuts, but it is my choice and I know how I am feeling doing this. It is a challenge, but I feel fine.
One thing I have noticed...I really enjoy sitting down to that tea in the evening...it is means I made it another day and it is my reward...the peppermint flavoring is a great change to lemons!
Oh! It seems that my tongue is already starting to clear a bit. Seems strange--day 7 first MC. Maybe just a fluke. Maybe all that extra cayenne is doing the trick?

Hey Chris! I was wondering about you today! That's great that you took your stuff with you and did so well!
I know what you mean about people thinking you're crazy ha I haven't told many people, just my good friend Gina, my sisters and folks and of course the kids of mine and my honey, but they're ALL very supportive about it, thankfully. I haven't told anyone who said "what an idiot" ha (yet ha) I haven't told the weight loss board I post on either, as they'd freak out for sure ha I'll wait til I get some more weight off and feel really healthy before I spring it on them :D
I know the feelings of "why am I doing this" too ha they say that's one of the detox symptoms, and it goes away with the SWF the next morning.. sometimes it comes back quickly though doesn't it? ha
I LOVE my laxative tea time at night too, cause it means I completed another day! I actually LOVE the salt water flush too, cause it works so well and I feel so light and good after it (then I weigh in and see how much I lost).. so the only hard part is mid-day ha so I solved that by taking a nap mid-day hahaha when I can :D
Keep up the great work!!! My tongue is totally coated so I'm detoxing really well. I have to scrape it several times a day with my tongue scraper just to handle how thick my tongue feels ha good that you're getting some pink back! Have a great day everyone!

sciniq, good luck on the cleanse! *It's great *:D *I don't know what the deal is with the back pain and stuff either.. I have it every once in a while too.. is that our kidneys cleaning out? *or what? *ha *does anyone know?
I'm about to "eat" my tea before bed *ha (sounds better when I say it that way :D) and put Day 3 to bed *:) *It was an incredibly easy one. *I was saying on the other thread that once I gave myself permision to make this a "modified cleanse" (meaning I could let myself eat a small dinner at night if I really wanted it, as it would still be healthier than the junk I was eating before.. etc.), then it wasn't fun any more to have food, so it's been really easy today. *I hope it continues. *:D
Have a great day tomorrow everyone! *We're looking to buy a house and I get to see a couple of them tomorrow, so I'm excited. *I'm hoping the packing and the looking and the whole thing will keep my mind off of food and can let me do the cleanse better this month. *Then, just think how fun it will be when I find and move into our house, and also have a new, thinner, healthier body, woo hoo!!! *:D *G'nite!

Well I lost 2 more pounds, woo hoo!!! I'm down from 254 to 245.. 9 pounds in 3 days, I'd love THAT to keep up! ha I"m glad a lot of this water weight I picked up from the junk food last week is coming off quickly. I was hoping it would.
Day 4 here and doing well. I LOVE that SWF :D I do the tea at night, of course, and it makes me poop as soon as I get up in the morning, but then I do the SWF and I wait about an hour and poop even more! It's really wonderful and I feel badly for those who choke over it and cant do it, cause it really is WONDERFUL!
I'm off to look at houses today, yipeee, have a great cleanse day all!

lanie, Welcome!!! Great job on starting the cleanse! You're going to love it :D (and alternately hate it haha) and back and forth and back and forth haha no, it's wonderful, just the detox symptoms sometimes suck, but once you get to start the salt water flush you'll be so happy you did, as it cleans you all out and gets rid of those detox symptoms.. it's awesome. Share, share :D
I found a house I want today oooooo I'm gonna have Kevin come back with me at 4, I hope he likes it too, then I hope we get it, then I hope the financing goes through ha then I hope the move goes smoothly.. then I hope.. Hello all,
I am a new cleanser on day 1, last night I started with the tea, smooth move, tastes kinda good actually. I didn't do so well with the swf this morning, I think I'll have to stck to tea morning and night for now. I have gotten through about 10 oz of lemoade so far. I think I put too much cayanne, I am a wuss with spicy stuff. But I am optimistic. No headaches so far, I did some prep during the last 2 weeks to get ready: less coffee, less junk, more fruits and veggies, etc. The first real test for me will be not eating real food tonight. Having dinner is like a ritual of mine so it will be kinda tough to get through that . The weekend might be kinda hard too. Seeing no work to distract me! I'm glad I found this threat to keep my spirits up!

Hey guys and gals!
Day 9...feeling very good--ran 7 miles last night with no difficulty at all. My energy level is high and my mind is finally clear--not feeling sleepy anymore. I am down 15 pounds as of this morning, so I surpassed my goal with the weight loss. One more day to go...working 12 hours tonight which will be difficult...those long shifts are so hard when not eating anything!
Going without food this long is amazing enough...but no caffeine, too! And not one headache since I drastically cut back on the coffee pre-cleanse. I strongly recommend that to everyone. Anyway...time to go eliminate this SWF.
Keep the faith all!

Hey everyone...
finished my cleanse... could have gone longer, next time....
10 days.... 22 lbs..... Not too shabby....
My tongue is still 1/2 yuckie.... and the other 1/2 is such a pretty pink....
you know all those years and I never thought I would ever see my tongue pink again... I just chalked it up to getting older... whoda thunk....
Best of luck to everyone.... I will be starting again in May.... I will be checking in here on weekdays though...
Keep on juicing... and do the MC.... It is truly worth it...

March 3rd, 2006, 03:19 PM
My first day (Mar 1) wasn't so successful - I was fine until around 5:30, and then I had dinner with the family. But instead of just throwing in the towel, I just resolved to try again the next day (yesterday). Yesterday was *much* better! It wasn't hard at all to make it through the whole day.
I've decided to focus on one day at a time. I think that part of my problem on Wednesday was that I was obsessing about doing this for a minimum of 10 days. Which seems overwhelming (I can't even conceive of 40!). But one day at a time is something I can manage.
Today was the first saltwater flush day. I approached it with a totally open mind, so I was amazed that my honest reaction was, "Yuck! No Way can I get a Quart of this down!" (I did.) I was shocked at how gross it was. I read elsewhere on the board that someone tried using sea salt that didn't have an anti-caking agent, and that it made all of the difference in the world. I'll have to pick some of that up!
So I'm still kicking myself a little on not getting going on day 1 properly. Even though I am not at all religious, there was this inexplicable desire to start my fast on Ash Wednesday, as though that has special significance. Which is odd for me. Really. The last time I gave any thought to this time of year was when I was young enough to get Easter baskets! Which was ::ahem:: a long time ago. And had more to do with the pretty basket/candy than any religious thing. Yet there is this lingering feeling that fasting right now is very appropriate.
Anyway! Enough blathering. Off to make another batch of the glorious lemonade!

don't beat yourself up, bluestocking. i did some eating on my third day because of surgery, and just continued on after that as best i could. so far, out of five days, that's the only time i've had a problem. anything you can do is beneficial, i truly do believe that.
as for me, i'm looking forward to day 6. it's the weekend though, which is HARD. i usually always go out for martinis and crab cakes on the weekend! ;) there'll be none of THAT this time...

I've found that I really don't want to drink the lemonade drink or water.
On Day 1 I drink 9 servings w/o a problem. On Day 2, I had to force myself to drink servings 7-9. And today, on Day 3, it's nearly 6 PM and I've only had 3 servings.
Days 2 and 3 I've been lethargic and taken naps. I've been unproductive as well. Just lying around and doing nothing.
The lax tea I'm taking is making me go a couple hours after consumption instead of the following morning.

HI all! I only have a minute, it's been a crazy day... we put a bid in on a house today, so send good thoughts! :D I almost forgot what day I was on, it's been going so well ha I'm done with Day 5 now and I lost 3 more pounds today, so that's 12 pounds in 4 days, woo hoo! :D (I had a lot of water weight from recent junk food, remember...) As soon as I find out about the house I"ll be back in here.. right now I'm so on pins and needles I can't even remember my name haha Love and success to all!

i'm finishing up Day 7 today.
it's been a pain. sore throat. stuffed up nose. breaking out on face.
i went to bed at 2 am last night, and woke up at 6:30 am 'cause of the lax tea. usually, i'll just go back to sleep and stay in bed until 2 pm or so, but today, i forced myself to stay up and drank the swf. waited for that to get out of me. took a 30 minute walk. been groggy all day.
not drinking as much as i had the first fiew days. day 6, i only had 6 servings. today, i'm struggling with 6. i'm not drinking water.
i'm not hungry, but i do miss the TASTE of food. i want my taste buds to taste food.
i have a wicked sore throat. the cayenne pepper isn't helping. i think making it worse.
my tongue feels and tastes nasty. it's white and fuzzy.
i'm beginning to question all the so-called benefits and positive results of those who have done this cleanse. though i've endorsed this detox and done it 2 times prior, today, i'm thinking it's an evil process that's made up by a scam artist. is this how women feel while menstruating? that everyone's out to get them? maybe it's the pot paranoia coming out of my body.
argh.

Late joining the post, I started on the 1st too. Yippee I actually stopped eating/ indulging at 1pm the day before. mental prep and all
The first day was extreme torture for me but now being day 8 I am excited about doing something good for my body. we all decided to go 21 days I hope to be able to go a little longer but will see what the lord has for us at day 22.
no hunger pains but everyone STINKS to me even my two sweet chow chows: Everyone smells like SNOT. is that wierd or what and I smell everything now, doesn't turn my stomach or anything its just really wierd!
Other than that I think I am acutally getting use to the SWF in the mornings. Which I never thought I would say that.
My goal is after this 21 days ( if not longer) I plan on going back to being a vegetarian and doing a quarterly or monthly cleanse not sure which will see. This is my first!

HI, I just found this thread which is easier to follow than the monstrous one for 2006. *I started on March 1 and am therefore on Day 9. *This is my first MC but I have juice fasted before. *I woke up this morning considering transitioning to juice today and doing that until Sunday. *I may just see how the day goes. *I really would like to finish out my 10 days of lemonade but the monotony of this is driving me crazy. *I still have to cook for the family (dh and 5 kids) so I am still surrounded by food and recipes. *We had a soup fellowship at church last night and I even considered breaking it there with a broth, but I had my lemonade with me so I did not. *I did, however, accept communion (bite of bread dipped in grape juice) since I couldn't think of a gracious way to decline in front of my kids when that is a religious ceremony, not an eating experience. *(I am very very careful to have my children think this is a spiritual fast since I have eating disorder issues and DO NOT want them to think I am on some crash diet.) *It was the only bite of solid food since Feb 28 and it was divine! *In the past I have always broken my fasts with communion so I considered that, too. *But, alas it was not 10 days. *And I feel I will be disappointed in myself if I don't go the full 10 days. *So, today I am having lemonade and reading lots here to remind myself that so many people go far longer than 10 measly days.
You are all an encouragement! *Keep at it.

Hi Everybody,
I'm new to this board and new to this diet.
I'm starting Day 5 and doing fine. I'm really worried about lowing my metabolism though, so I may not go more than 10 days.
I read on a board earlier that some people may do the cleanse 1 day a week, like every Monday - I know that won't be a true cleanse, but I'm wondering if that would help with metabolism, then do a real cleanse occasionally. Any thoughts?
Also, biglou, what are PB shakes?
Any hints or ideas would truly be appreciated!
Thanks!

pb shake
Add one tablespoon of Bentonite liquid. Then add 1 tablespoon of Psyllium Husk and QUICKLY close the lid and shake for 3 seconds. QUICKLY take off lid and drink before it coagulates. You will be taking three Psyllium Bentonite Shakes a day, one in morning, one in the afternoon and one at night.
im doing it 2 to 3 times a day and it is working its wonders. do a web search that will gice you more infi

Hi biglou,
Thanks for commenting, is that something you should take after the cleanse? Or during?
Thanks!

Thanks for the link. I got a chance to look at it and it looks close to something my husband has taken in the past, so we will check it out in detail.
I am on day 6 - I'm doing pretty well, but I did the SWF for 2 days and my body just sucked up the salt. I even added more salt the 2nd day and it was worse.
My "ankles" become "cankles", and I even gained a few pounds - so not cool! lol
I am going to discontinue the SWF until I can get the Celtic salt that I saw suggested. I'll just do the tea am and pm.
I haven't ever done anything like this before, so I am just going for 10 days for my first one. My daughter is due to have a baby in the next week or two, and I am going to go help her for a week, so I didn't want to be doing something like this while I was there.
How are you doing on it? Have you done the fast before? If so, how did you do on it?
I'm still a little worried about my metabolism lowering afterward, but I do know I needed the cleansing part. :) That's another reason why I only wanted to do 10 days.
Thanks again for the info, I'll definitely check it out!

re swf if your body is retaining salt your mix is off with the natural salt im using it didnt work the first time, so i added 1/2 a tsp and it work fine. are you using un processed sea salt, or minimmaly processed
BTW today is day 16 for me, had some hunger/craving yesterday bur other wise ok and my tounge is 90% pink i still want to go at least 21days, and two notches tighter on my belt
