I read the Master Cleanse book and it clearly states, no enemas or colonics as they can cause great harm. However, no reason for why they could cause harm was given. Does anyone know why they should not be done. I really need to understand the reason. He explains everything else but gives no reason for this.

Also, I made it 1 day on MC and got very ill. That was a week ago and I am still sick, although getting better each day. Is this just normal and should I have continued with the MC. Or was it wise to stop and I should start again when I'm over this flu or whatever it is?

Thanks for any and all help.

Hi Gloria:

Sometimes I wish Burroughs was still here to answer some of these questions :) but my guess is this, the colonics push "up", the SWF moves down and out. I'd want the waste down and out. I've never had a colonic and I'm aware that it eventually comes down and out but it just seems better this way to me, doesn't it to you?

Not sure why you got ill, and I'm sorry to hear that you did. Whenever I start a cleanse I feel as if I'm getting the flu; runny nose, plugged up nose, body aches & pains, tired. What kind of symptoms are you having?

Take care,

Thank you Res, that makes sense. I hadn't thought of that.

My symptoms were flu like, excessive mucas, sore throat, aching, severe abdominal pain. I am just starting to feel better. I was very disappointed to have to stop the MC but felt I had too.

I plan on starting it again as soon as I am over this "flu".

Another question, does anyone know whether the MC will rid the body of parasites?

Hi Gloria: I hope you feel much better soon!

About the parasites: I believe the answer is YES. People pass worms...yes worms from eating lots of fast food. There's a site, www.curezone.com. I've never been there because I've heard that they don't hold back on "pictures" of the garbage that can come out of your body. So proceed with caution, this site is not for the faint of heart. :)

I have personally done about 40 enemas and a handful of colonics. They were very beneficial, especially the colonics. I do prefer the SWF however since it gets everything in your stomach, small intestines and your colon.
There is a little "reverse osmosis shut-off filter" between your large and small intestines that enemas or colonics cannot get past.

Having said that there are segments of the Bible that speak of cleansing oneself in the aspect of enemas using gourds rammed up your Okole (Hawaiian for butthole). But as someone that has done them, (the enemas were part of www.fasting.com 's regimen), it's a bit uncomfortable jamming a plastic thing up there. It's even worse for colonics because the tube is larger (about the size of your thumb. The great thing about the colonics is that they are adminstered by professionals and they can crank up the flow which helps expand and contract to get rid of the mucoid plaque better than any enema or SWF. Which may be added to complement the SWF's. You will only need to do 4 or 5 Colonics to get everything broken up. Be prepared to shell out $30-60 dollars a trip though.
Again bearing all of that in mind I don't see the danger in doing either, except discomfort. They will help in breaking up the mucoid plaque buildup that you have encrusted on your colon wall. That is the only sign that you are completely detoxified, because it's the crust that is poisoning your body.

There are purists here so answers may vary according to that. I have done a 60 day juice fast, and a couple smaller orange juice fasts before so I tend to be more flexible with what I choose to do. I am however on day 7 of a 21 day fast and I'm following this one pretty much to the T.

In my experience though, you cannot fully detoxify in 10 days with SWF's. It's a good start but the mucoid plaque tends to take longer to dislodge. It was well into 40 days or so that I stopped pooing out the black stuff on my last juice fast using enemas.

Hope all this helps!!!

Happy fasting and remember some KY or Vaseline if you do the enemas yourself.

Hi,

I'm wondering whether anyone has done a colonic or enema while on the Master Cleanse? I'm new to the Master Cleanse but not to colonics. I have always had difficulty with any kind of fasting and am wondering whether a colonic would help me move through some of the detox symptoms a little better? (I find it to not be so pleasant during the session but afterwards I feel immensely better and energized).

Thank you!
Katharina

Hi Skinny: Burroughs actually states to "not" do enemas etc while cleansing. The enema pushes the waste "up" and then it comes out while the LAX tea and SWF work from the top down.
