Today is my first day coming off of a 10 day fast. I have fresh squeesed OJ with lots of pulp but it isnt helping the hunger pangs. Is this just of the process or is there something I can do? It wasn't like this with the lemonade. I have to do this again tomorrow. Help.

Hi Natasha,

How much oj are you drinking? I have not experienced this in any of my past (5) cleanses. Make sure you are drinking enough, drinking slowly and really enjoying the taste and texture of the oj, and don't forget to continue to drink plenty of water. Hope this helps :)

Thanks again for the advice Ladydi. I am on glass #4 and its been 6 hours. I'm taking it slowly but maybe too slowly. I'll make more and drink a little quicker tomorrow I guess. I can't wait until I can have the soup!

ok if anyone wants to know:
i didn't even go a whole day with only oj... almost a whole day. :( but i ate half an avocado, i could feel it in my stomach,,it didn't like it that much, but it wasn't bad. then later in the day i ate the other half... and my stomach probably didn't like it, but it didn't do anything bad, i guess/ I hope it didn't! Then later last nite, i made soup, reciepe to follow. (and my stomach DID NOT like this, i think it was the tomato paste. I mean nothing happend, it just felt even more upset than with the avocado (prob cause the avocado was at least raw!?) so now its the next morning, and i'm drinking OJ and bringing broth to work... and i have an avocado and banana at work waiting for me, i dont know if im gunna eat them now, yet.

"2 cups large dice yellow onions
2 cups large dice leeks, green and white parts, well rinsed
2 cups mushroom trimmings, wiped clean
1 cup large dice carrots
1 cup large dice celery
1 cup large dice turnips
1 cup large dice parsnips
1 cup large dice yellow squash
1 cup large dice zucchini
8 Roma tomatoes, quartered
1/2 cup garlic cloves, peeled
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper
1 gallon water
2 tablespoons fresh thyme, or 2 teaspoons dried
8 parsley stems
4 basil stems
2 bay leaves
1 can tomato paste
2 cups white wine
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
In a large roasting pan, spread the onions, leeks, mushrooms, carrots, celery, turnips, parsnips, squash, zucchini, tomatoes and garlic cloves. Drizzle with the olive oil, and season with the salt and pepper, stirring to coat. Roast for 45 minutes, stirring, every 15 minutes to brown evenly.

Remove from the oven and transfer to a large pot. Add the water and herbs, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes, skimming to remove any foam that rises to the surface. Add the tomato paste and wine and cook for 30 minutes.

Remove from the heat and strain through a fine mesh strainer into a clean container. Use immediately, cool in an ice bath, then refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 5 days. (The stock can be frozen for up to 3 months.)

NOW GANG, THERE ARE NO RULES, SO YOU CAN USE ANYTHING YOU LIKE. FOR EXAMPLE, I USE CILANTRO INSTEAD OF PARSLEY, I'VE USED CELERY ROOT, BEETS, RUTABAGA, ETC.... ANY ROOT VEGETABLE. YOU CAN'T GOOF IT UP, BUT ROAST THE VEGGIES FIRST AND USE DOUBLE THE GARLIC, BECAUSE IT'S REALLY GREAT FOR YOU! A QUICK NOTE ON THE USE OF WINE, USE IT... IT ADDS TO THE OVERALL FLAVOR. DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE ALCOHOL, IT GETS BURNED OFF, AND THIS IS COMING FROM SOMEONE WHO'S HUSBAND IS A 12 STEPPER, NO WORRIES ABOUT THE WINE."

the two days doing OJ were harder than the whole 14 days on the fast.
the key is to drink ALOT of OJ and tea and i had a little lemonade to help me get by too.
i was famished and light headed and irritable while coming off fmy fast. it was a tough time. but it'll pass. just stay strong. you did so well so far, just stay focused and make it happen.
