Yesterday I was on my third day of the diet. I had began having severe lower back pains as well as a migraine that kept me in bed for 12 hours. It was so intense that I cheated and had to take 2 advil. Are these back pains normal?

Hmm, there's that "normal" word again. ;) Hi Myrna. :) It seems as if I've experienced a lot of same things as others here. Possibly because I've cleansed 6 times. BUT, I went through similar back pains and even on this modified cleansy thing that I'm doing my back is hurting.

The back and abdomen are the *core* of us really and we really go through it in that spot. Now, if you're married, (I'm whispering here) my doctor told me that, uh, sex, is really, really good for the back. (oh great, I just realized a bunch of people are going to say, "If you're married??" lol) Okay, well anyway sex is good for your back. I couldn't tell you for sure....I'm going to stop here. ::)

Love,

Hi Myrna,
I think the back pain folks are having is related to lactic acid (waste product) buildup in the postural muscles of the back. If this diet does what it says it does, it might be the diet leaching all of these inflammatory substances out of the body. Makes intuitive sense to me. In the meantime, I hope you all visit your chiropractor and let him or her care for your spine.

I have had backpains from my second cleanse day on. At the beginning they were so severe I could barely sit let alone bend down. Into the 4th day they became gradually less and less. Today I am on my 10th day and they are almost gone. I think you have a good point there. It could well be lactic acid build up.
