View Full Version : I just can't seem to get going

I have had several false starts on this MC. Does anyone have any suggestions about doing this? I am so frustrated and fed up with my failure to stay on this MC for more than 1/'2 a day. I have been saying that I am going to do this thing tomorrow for so many tomorrows.......I just want to get on with it.

Hi Anita,

I read your post and feel your frustration. I'll bet there are countless "posters" on this site who have lived through Exactly the same thing. So please don't be down on yourself. Here are a few things you might try and see if they help you.

Start your cleanse on a Friday, and try to stay as close to home as you can for those first 3 days. This helps you grasp an understanding of how the SWF works (timing for the laxative tea and SWF to ..uh work their magic ;) Plus it helps to eliminate any outside temptations. :) :) :)

Whenever you get a thought to have "just one bite" or anything like that. Mentally tell yourself
"I don't want it!!" and walk away.

I KNOW you can do it!! Remember the reason you are starting the cleanse and stick to your guns. You can do it!!


Make your lemonade for the day in the morning. ( A days supply) I carried a portable coffee mug with me where ever I went for those first 3 days. Whenever I thought about food, I would take a swig of the lemonade. I probably drank more than the 8 glasses within the time frame of the first three days. If I hadn't, I probably wouldn't have made it. If I got tempted to eat, I'd start chugging :) I made it to 21 days on my first cleanse.

Do the laxative tea the night before and the Salt Water Flush in the morning. I find that the SWF helps to take away the appetite. (For obvious reasons - heh :) )
So don't skip it.

Drink water and try to keep your stomach full with either lemonade or water. (Your stomach will shrink as you progress on the cleanse)

Distract yourself! Take a long bath with bubbles, do some gardening, go for a walk, read a good book, something that you enjoy. Organize your closets. Take out your journal and write your thoughts. Call a friend, or read this message board.

Make up your mind to do it and don't give up, you'll be surprised how easy it becomes if you can just get past the first 3 days... Remember, the phrase - " I don't want it " drink your lemonade and move your mind along onto another train of thought.

that was sooooo inspirational. i'm doing my first cleanse, day 1, and i'm having a hard time right about now. i'll keep telling i won't eat it!!!

Gosh. I know EXACTLY how you feel. I've also tried to many times and then given up as soon as it hit lunch time. I was thinking about the reason for this for a really long time. Why do we do this - why do we sabotage ourselves when we know the MC will be SO good for us.

Of course there is the short term pleasure of food. But also, i think that we might be scared of failing. I know that I am -I'm scared of going through this cleanse. Scared of trying to hard and then maybe in day 2 or 3 failing. After all of that pain and not getting anything out of it.

we have to support each other. because that is what will give us the faith and the belief in this to make it through 10 days. lets be there for each other!

I feel you. I am on day three, but I am not sure I can even call it that. Everyday I have broken down and snacked on something at the end of the day. Afterward I feel so guilty and tell myself the next day will be different. I am still loosing some weight, but I know I am not living up to the MC full potential. Hopefully tomorrow will be different.

im right here with you guys....im on day one again...finally keeping the swf down....oh boy here i go again...i think we are all in thiss together
