I had no sinus trouble prior to Master Cleanse. My problems began afterwards...

My fast lasted for 6 days. I felt great during it and never hungry.
In the "wheening off the fast" phase, I got to two days diluted OJ, one day of vegetable broth soup and then the cooked veges.
From that day until the present and (over three months and counting), I have experienced post nasal drip, which sometimes is thick (mucousy), and I'm always having to clear my throat (annoying and embarrassing). Sometimes my sinuses are so plugged up that I must regually blow my nose. It has created some issues that people with the common cold / flu see (ie. ear aches).
I've been to the dr. who prescribed everything from nasal spray, decongestants, inhalers (due to wheezing), mucous thinners. All these only help temporarilly and mask the underlying prob.

Has anyone had a similar issue?? Help?

Thank you from the 3-month sinus symptoms sufferer.

It sounds to me as if you body is not through detoxing. I believe your body is trying to tell you that there is quite a bit more mucus and toxins waiting to be released. You stirred up all of the toxins and quit right in the middle of the toxins breaking up in your body. I would suggest you start this cleanse again and continue for the full duration. I hope that this helps. I teach Lymphology (the lymphatic system) so I am aware of the detoxing process in the body. Good luck to you!

My hit is that yes partly it is detox and also perhaps a food allergy that you are now more sensitive to due to the detox process. I think after a cleanse our bodies are clearer communicators and we get instant feedback. Perhaps you can read up more on elimination diets and there might be some insight there for you regarding symptoms of food allergies.
Good Luck

Hi Tpcitpci, :)
It is good that you've been to a licensed health care practitioner as now you know it's not any serious, diagnosable disease. That leaves ongoing detoxification.
Burroughs says in the original Master Cleanser booklet that if, after eating is resumed, distress or gas occurs, you should continue on the Master Cleanse for several more days until the system is ready for food.
A sinus discharge is usually a result of the body eliminating toxins--either from your current diet or old ones stored in the body.
Depending on what your diet was like before the cleanse and after the cleanse, you could have a lot of old toxins and a new clean diet would now allow your body to start to work on eliminating those old toxins.
Or, you could have gone back to the Standard American Diet and your now-cleaner body is in better shape to eliminate those toxins and is doing a better, more efficient job.
I noticed that you only did 6 days. Day 7 is usually when another major detox occurs. I suggest you follow Burroughs' recommendation and go back on the cleanse for several more days until the discharge is handled.
