I know that sounds rather goofy lol.
I was here a few months ago because I really wanted to do the master cleanse. I got myself very psyched up and bought all the goodies to make the drink. But I didn't last a day. The overwhelming cravings got me. I was in the middle of eating a total fast food lifestyle, smoking, having thyroid issues etc. I just couldn't do it. But, I didn't lose that feeling in my soul that I needed to do something about my body and lifestyle.
So now it's summer. And I have been raw for a while. It just HIT ME one day, I was on youtube and came across a video for some guy who was doing it for 14 days. I started watching a whole bunch of home made videos, then checking out websites. I became completely hungry for this. And I really felt a huge urge to try it. So I went out, and bought a tonne of veggies, fruits, everything.
I was going to go 80% raw. But the 20% of regular food I was eating felt so WRONG. I just converted completely and it felt natural. It's been great. I feel so good.
Now I'm back and I really think I'm ready to try the master cleanse! Heck all I eat is smoothies anyways lol. I'm very excited. Alot of people do the cleanse first then try the raw. I think it's funny I had to go raw to be able to do the cleanse.
Can't wait!

Hey-
I ate a raw diet for 4 days before i started the MC to try to avoid all those craving issues and I have not had a single craving. I go out to dinner parties, BBQs and nothing. So i think that coming from a Raw diet you will do much better this time. Good luck!
PS- I am on Day 7 of 15 :)

I'm vegan, but I think I will eventually transition to raw food only.

IT DID JUST HIT ME! I can't even tell you exactly how I came about making the decision and what's even funnier is that I haven't even started yet!! :D Unlike you, highstrung I was typically interested in the cleanse as a catalyst for starting a new eating life-style. I was watching Ellen (tivo'd version) and saw Beyonce mention the Master Cleanse and when Ellen said she'd done it too, I was all over the internet investigating this thing. I'm on day 8 (of 10) and am planning on going 100% raw for one month. I have to have shorter durations of goal oriented ideas otherwise I sabotage myself. I'm very proud of me for making it to day 8! YAY me! I have 2 bids in e-bay for a vita mix 3600. It's the only one I can afford right now - but from what I understand, they continue to kick butt no matter how old they are. So I'm all over the green smooties after my transition back to "solids". Well here to ideas just HITTING US!
Cheers ;)

I started out doing a nine day juice, veggies and fruits, fast and then went raw two years ago. I have been 100%, 98% raw for those years now. I am just starting my MC cleanse, as I started gaining weight on raw foods. I think I was doing too many nuts and seeds, to counter much stress in my life. I will stay raw and love it, but need to get back on track here.
BTW, I quit smoking cold turkey and had a relatively easy time of it, after a 39 year habit, six months into the raw lifestyle. Smoking actually made me sick eventually....all those chemicals in my body! I could not quit before and had tried many times. I have been smoke free for 1 1/2 years now and am so happy about that. I even lost weight going raw then.
Best of luck to you on your cleanse!

Errigal:
Congratulations on quitting smoking! :D That's such a big deal when you consider there are over 1000 chemicals added by man to the cigarrette. How rude, huh? ;)
Yeah I think too many raw nuts can either keep you at the current weight or put weight on. Good to hear you're getting back on track. Me too. :)
Love,

Hey, thanks for the congrats on the cessation of smoking. I am so happy, but fear that such long usage I have a ton of chemicals still lurking around my body, hiding in knooks and crannies! My tough today is brown on day three of the cleanse. YUCK. And I eat a predominantly all organic diet! Amazing how the toxins stick to a person. Today is my 55th birthday, and I feel very young at heart and spirit and the physical is coming back to me, gradually! Hallelujah!
Yes, I fear the crunching of nuts may have been most of the culprit......did a lot of T'ai coconuts and raw chocolate, too. Ah, who knows, but very much much wanting to straighten out what ever is going on.
Thanks! Errigal

Res: THANKS! :D Although I don't know if it was meant for me. :) Aug. 15 is my birthday! :)
Didn't do anything to celebrate on the day, but last Sunday I went to the very early movie @ 10:15 am, then went for a 90 min walk around the Emeryville marina, and then went to Trader Vic's for lunch. A seared (almost raw) tuna fillet w/ fresh avocado, cucumbers, and tomato! It was a sandwich, but I asked them to skip the bread and wasabi mayo. :) It was excellent! :D

Thanks, Res! :D
Funny thing is I've always been attracted to fruit tarts/tortes what-have-yous because I love all the fresh fruit pile on top. :) This cake looks much the same, w/ the kiwi, strawberries, blackberries, and what looks like orange slices or maybe mango! Mmmmmm!!! :D
