I made my dehydrator (looks to be a bit more complicated than this one) about 35 years ago based on a book by Gen MacManiman (Dry It You'll Like It - http://www.amazon.com/Dry-Youll-Like-Gen-MacManiman/dp/0961199806). It's been going strong ever since.
Hi Res! I'm not fully back yet, but checking threads and mail again.
And, BTW, I do have to report that my dehydrated eggplant crackers are terrific! I had some this noon to dip with a toona/pesto mix, and it was fabulous! They come out crunchy but strong enough to use as dippers. Yum!

This is something I can do, where as buying one was not on my priority list. I am debating whether to get a vita mix or a food prodessor right now.
