Is anyone else a sprout aficionado?

I use jars on the counter, and my favorite is fenugreek (eventhough I busted a tooth on an uncooperative seed a few years back!).

I just love the fresh 'aliveness' (?) of them and can eat them by the handful on salads. I have even run them through the juicer with other greens.

Which method do you use? Which sprouts do you like the most? You know, that kind of thing...

I really like alfalfa sprouts because they're "middle of the road". But my favorite for snacking on and loading into salads is Sunflower sprouts. I hadn't thought of juicing them until now. :) I don't think I've tried fenugreek sprouts, but I have tried radish sprouts and they have a bitter taste to me so I pass.

I rule at sprouting. A few weeks ago I had a nice jar of sprouts going along with a huge ball of mold.

Hi, I am new to the whole (raw) sprouting scene. I have been eating sprouts, but I've never tried to actually sprout them myself. I have some chickpeas soaking, and tomorrow I will start to "rinse and let the water drain out & repeat for a couple days". Is there anything else I should know? I have a recipe for 'live' hummus that calles for sprouted chickpeas. If it's good, I'll share. :)

Also, you all were so helpful during the cleanse, whether you know it or not...thanks! Lake

Hey, recipes would be great! Sprouted hummus sounds great.

Thanks for mentioning sunflower sprouts, Res. I just got back from Puerto Rico, and while I was there, I visited the Ann Wigmore Institute in Aguada. They go through some sunflower sprouts there!

I got some beans and seeds today at Wild Oats, but I forgot to look for whole sunflower seeds. The bulk hulled ones were too broken up to sprout.
