Hi all-
Can anyone tell me if tofu is considered raw for the purpose of a raw foods diet?

I too have heard that tofu is not all that it's cracked up to be...

Turns out it is not all that good for you ....
But then they seem to always be telling us that things are not good for us...

I would do the research if you are using it on a regular basis....

I myself, don't touch the stuff....

I dont think tofu is raw. I dont much like it either. The only time I eat it is in scrambled eggs. Not very often.

Tofu is NOT raw. Final answer.

To make tofu, you add a coagulant to soymilk. To make soymilk, you have to boil the soybean+water mixture long enough to deactivate an enzyme that inhibits protein digestion.

Boiling +deactivating enzymes = not raw.
